Last year’s color trend was Living Coral. Its palette was filled with warm, bold and brilliant colors reminiscent of sunsets and sunrises. This year’s Pantone color, Classic Blue, is a very different, richer hue. Leatrice Eiseman, the Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute said, “We are living in a time that requires trust and faith. It is this kind of constancy and confidence that is expressed by Pantone 19-4052 Classic Blue, a solid and dependable blue hue we can always rely on.” Classic Blue has a coastal feel which is the perfect tone for the beachy décor and tranquil atmosphere of a seaside home on Long Beach Island. It is an elegant, but simplistic hue.

Decorating with white and blue exudes the coastal feel. White is still the number one color for kitchens.  An all-white kitchen is still a favorite choice because it feels clean and crisp. Mixing solid blue perimeter cabinets or a solid blue island with white upper cabinets can create a classic look with a little pop of color. It is new and interesting, yet creates a look that can stand the test of time. White cabinetry is still the number one choice for our clientele from Holgate to Barnegat Light, but pairing white with the  timeless shade of Classic Blue creates a new and refreshing combination.
